You just learned a new word today. It’s so new that it’s not even in the dictionary. That word…”Failocity: the science of executing, failing, learning, executing again, failing, learning more, and continuing the cycle that will eventually result in massive success!”

There you go. You’ve learned a new word and the definition today. Where can the failocity concept not be found? Places where you are afraid to take that risk to invest in yourself, where you can’t take that first step. Where fear grips you and keeps you from taking action.

“Failures are the bumps that you experience on the road to success.” – C. Overdahl

Here’s the magic, using the failocity concept, the more failure you experience, the more opportunities you will have that lead you to massive success! Since I love sports analogies, let’s use football. Think about this unthinkable scenario. Your favorite team is starting their first drive of the game on their own 25-yard line. The quarterback is calling out, “Blue 16, red 44, set hut!” The quarterback drops back in the pocket, looks left, looks right, picks his receiver and throws a 25-yard pass down the sideline. The receiver stretches, dives, and just misses making an ESPN SportsCenter highlight kind of a catch.

Since the play was a failure, the entire offensive unit walks off the field hanging their heads in disgust and embarrassment. They’ve literally forfeited the game. Now, how ridiculous is this example? How could this possibly make any sense? If you bought tickets to watch this team, you’d demand a refund! But in reality, this happens all of the time in life. Some people don’t even take the field because they’re so convinced that they’re going to fail!

Then, there’s FAILOCITY! You can be a world-renowned expert on the failocity concept! People will flock to you and ask you “What’s your secret?” Your answer might sound a lot like this moderately successful basketball player who you may have heard of during your lifetime.

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-wiing shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” – Michael Jordan

What can you do? Fail more…starting today. Start the failocity wheels in motion which include execution and learning. Learn from your failures and execute again. Once you start to make the coection between failure and success, you’ll actually start to shrug off your failures because of the inevitable attainment of success that motivates you to keep after it.
