Let’s get right down to it. Have you got a plan? Can you pull it up right now and know exactly where you’re at and where you’re trying to go? How about a plan for 2022? I love this time of year from a plaing perspective because you’re about to get a fresh start, but you’ve still got the ability to shape the rest of the current year for your history books. That strong finish will also help provide the momentum for a fast start next year. But what about that plan that I was asking about earlier?

On October 26, 1967, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made a stop at Barratt Junior High School in Philadelphia. In delivering his speech to these young men and women, he wanted them to look forward in their lives with a plan in mind. He started by asking the question, “What is in your life’s blueprint?” He followed up by stressing how important it was during such a crucial period of their lives as junior high students. He then talked about the architectural importance of having a blueprint developed to build a building. He said, “…and a building is not well erected without a good sound and solid blueprint.”

In listening to MLK’s speech, I wondered what I would have done if I were in attendance. Would it be in one ear and out the other or would I take what he said to heart and start the process of building my life’s blueprint. Unfortunately, we don’t get to go back to junior high. Sure, we can teach what we’ve learned to the younger generations but as far as we’re concerned, it’s all about what we can do right now in the present and the future. What buildings are we trying to properly build? Or in “Get Squared” speech… what Goals are we working on Getting?

I’ve seen a lot of successful people in my life, and I’ve also seen a lot of people who have come up short of the mark. One of the largest discrepancies is in the plan, the blueprint. A sound and solid blueprint is the key to almost anything you want to build. Once that’s in place, it comes down to having the necessary determination developed through your why, so that you can take action and execute your plan.

Do you need help from a “business architect” to get your blueprint in place? Let’s jump on a call to see if it might be a good fit for us to work together. You’ll be surprised to see the impact!
